Interfaith Food Pantry

We support and actively participate in the Petaluma Interfaith Food Pantry. Each Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, Pantry volunteers serve bags of groceries to those in need at the park across from Elim Lutheran at 504 Baker Street. On the second Thursday of each month, our volunteers serve from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization.  UMCOR is working in the United States and more than 80 countries.  UMCOR’s mission, grounded in the teachings of Jesus, is to alleviate human suffering whether caused by war, conflict or natural disaster, with open hearts and minds to all people.

UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own. Volunteers can serve in three ways:

1) Early disaster response in the United States
2) Sorting and shipping relief supplies
3) Travel overseas with United Methodist Volunteers in Mission to support UMCOR field offices.

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission are people of God, who share a passion for Jesus Christ and a desire to show compassion, through our very lives, to all the people of God. UMVIM, California-Nevada continuously strives to provide mission opportunities in construction/reconstruction, disaster relief, medical, connectional and educational venues that will enable the persons volunteering to do mission service, and, the persons to whom they are in convenant relationships with, to progress along their faith journey, with simplicity, authenticity, and relevancy. We are in service locally within this Conference, through the rest of the United States and Internationally through out the world.
